Collection of cases

During the pilot phase of OccWatch, cases are submitted by Modernet members only, or some of their close contacts who usually are occupationnal disease specialists and gather sufficient qualitative information, not only on disease, but also on exposure, and work-relatedness assessment.

One of Modernet goals was to extend OccWatch ability to capture case-reports to other physicians. Extension concerns occupational physicians who have a good knowledge of workers' exposure as well as risk factors associated to already known diseases or organ-specialists who ruled out any non-occupational risk-factors.

General Practitioner will be warmly invited to seek advices of worker's occupational physician when available and organ-specialist if they want to submit.

To diffuse the new system more largely, peoples involved in occupational diseases surveillance will be able to register in order to report cases under the sponsorship of à local referent.
